Parent Dashboard for
School Transparency

The Parent Dashboard is filled with important school-level information that parents and others say they want to know about Michigan public schools, including charter schools.

School Index

The Michigan School Index System measures public school performance in six key areas—student growth, student proficiency, school quality/student success, graduation rate, English Learner progress, and assessment participation.

Student Count

The Student Count report provides an unduplicated count of students attending a specific district or school.

Graduation/Dropout Rate

The Grad/Dropout Rate report shows the percent and/or total count of public high school students who, after beginning ninth grade four, five or six years ago, graduated or dropped out of school.

Student Assessment

Student assessment in grades 3 through 8 include the Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP), PSAT, and MI-Access. Students in high school, grade 11, take one of two assessment: the Michigan Merit Exam (which includes M-STEP, SAT and WorkKeys) or MI-Access

Career and Technical Education

Career and Technical Education (CTE) State-Approved Programs prepare students so they have the necessary academic, technical and work behavior skills to make meaningful connections to the current and emerging world of work.

Staffing Information

The Staffing Count report provides an unduplicated staffing count by staffing group working in a specific district or school. The Educator Effectiveness report summarizes how school districts have rated the effectiveness of their teachers and administrators.

Out Schools - At A Glance

The Our Schools - At A Glance report displays operational and academic dashboards for all the school districts within a selected region, like a legislative district.

Financial Information

MI School Data provides comprehensive current and historical financial reports for all school districts and public school academies via the Expenditure, Revenue, Fund Balance, and Balance Sheet reports. Additionally, the Financial Transparency Dashboard provides a variety of financial metrics to see how a district is performing financially.

English Learner Data

The English Learner Dashboard report shows an at-a-glance view of the proficiency of students in addition to the Mean Student Growth Percentile on the WIDA ACCESS assessment.

Postsecondary Outcomes by High School

The suite of reports in Postsecondary Outcomes by High School include information showing enrollment, credit accumulation, remedial coursework, and degree attainment.

Non-Resident Status

The Non-Resident Status report reflects students who live in your district but attend school in a different district, and students who reside in other districts but attend school in yours.
